About MMKI

The MMKI is a virtual museum, presenting projects by contemporary artists on three virtual floors. Invited artists all have to work with the same rooms, the works are typically site-specific.

The visitor has the opportunity to view the show firstly with still images and secondly with QuicktimeVR-panoramas, which transport a good impression of spatial relations. Additionally the visitor may find background-informations about the artist and his work as well as a documentation of preceding projects.

The architecture combines several museum-specific rooms (like a pavillon) to a single building with a claerly defined structure.
The MMKI itself as a project raises questions like: what makes a museum a museum (the exhibitions, the architecture, the rooms?), or what are artists planning, when they don't have to deal with material limits?
