Performance Space is a national center for contemporary interdiciplinary arts and hybrid performance practice.
_A site of exchange and cultural mapping.
_A space where artists and audiences share ideas about culture, politics and difference.
_A place where experiments are undertaken and new work is developed and test-driven.

Our current home in inner-city Sydney has a theatre, a studio and two gallery spaces, bringing together a diverse range of practitioners and audiences committed to engaging with contemporary ideas and art practices.

We present a curated program of performance, sound and video works, new media events and installations. We offer support for artists undertaking research and development through our residency program, training laboratories, workshops and forums. We provide a hub—a meeting place for networking, critical discussion, meditations, arguments and occasional frivolity.

Working with over three hundred artists per year and presenting more than fifty public events for our audiences annually, we’re committed to facilitating the emergence of new forms and fresh voices in our culture. Our artist community has an enormous multiplicity of skills, experiences, ideas and perspectives that merge, collide and cross-pollinate giving rise to unique models of thought and practice.
