When we see something, we see that as we like. For example, sometimes our eyes are deceived. It means our brain makes images as we like. Communication is also like that. Communication is made by a receiver. Communication is not one-way from a sender to a receiver. A receiver's reaction decides a value and meaning of the information. A sender can not control meaning and value of the information which he or she sends. This is a very basic idea of communication.

This installation uses suite of three rooms in a basement. There are seven partitions and four lighting system. Walls, ceiling and floor are painted in white. Those partitions are sometimes partially half transparent depending on the lighting situation. And those lights are not under control, and are blinking randomly.

Sometimes you can see behind the partitions, and sometimes you are seen from behind the partitions depending on the timing of the lighting. It is a kind of individual information exchange. But we can not control it. It is going on automatically.
And the information is filtered by partitions. Also the lighting is filtered, so it is very difficult to see it directly, we just can see the reflection of the lighting. The wthite painted walls, ceiling and floor cause the reflection. Everything in this installation is seen through the filtered lighting.
We do exchange information through the partitions, by filtered lighting and our brain. If you want, you may see information which you want to see as you like. But you can not control how to be seen by other people in this installation.
