| Performance installation by Herio Kotomizu - art information magazine "etc" issuer, and Takahiko Suzuki. The basis of this installation is Edgar Allan Poe's essay on "Maelzel's Chess Player". The theme of the essay is about an automatic machine of chess, and an image of personal computer is chosen as the present automatic machine for this work. A big imitation Apple CUBE is prepared. A real Apple computer, a monitor and a keyboard are installed in the box _ a big imitation Apple CUBE. Herio is editing his art magazine in the box during the exhibition period. The audience is not announced that he is working in the box. Another monitor,a keyboard and speakers are set on the table beside huge CUBE. Those are shared with Herio's ones. The monitor on the table displays the same image as Herio's monitor. The keyboard was completely shared with him. They can observe Herio's editing work on real time. Also the audience could cut into his work using keyboard. And Herio sometimes prints out. 2 contact microphones pick up Herio's hard disk and keyboard's sound. The sounds are amplified and visitors can listen to the sound through the speakers on the table. A small video camera is in a box, and the camera is always shooting Herio. The image is displayed on a 3 inches monochrome LCD monitor, and it can be seen through a hole with a diameter of 1 cm in the side of a box. Although the audience can see him on the monochrome monitor, they can not see him directly. |

| Art informational magazine "etc." June issue is under work, now -on May 25 . This magazine is put on the market on May 25. My work is serious. and my head is also confused. And I happen to think that DTP resemble etc. You can see on a monitor signs that the merger number of "etc." in June and July of a schedule sold on June 25 is made. Following address and map are made reference, and it goes into the space. Since the monitor is installed there, please see a monitor.It takes time for a while. Please return, if you end. An exhibition term is a term when magazine edit work is the busiest. |
